opinion on : JVC: KD-AVX11 headunit?
Moderator: martauto
I'm actually looking to get the KD-AVX33, which looks very similar to that one... only you can stream music to it via bluetooth, plus you can use it as a handsfree device for your mobile. Nice looking units, but like you say, they gotta have orange buttons innit!

I have a JVC with the fold down face, first time I used it (the fold down face), I thought "Thunderbirds", now I just think it's a pain.
Yup. And I have to say, my experience of JVC head units has been pretty shite in general —a I had 2 blow up (fortunately inside warranty); the power button has fallen off my current unit; the face is all covered in tiny scratches, because it's made of soft plastic, and the space between the face and the actual display is filling up with white particles of dust, which looks really naff. JVC are particularly unhelpful with problems.andyborris wrote:I have a JVC with the fold down face, first time I used it (the fold down face), I thought "Thunderbirds", now I just think it's a pain.

I recently bought one of THESE Blaupunkt units. It's cheaper and doesn't have the flashy screen, but the black and white one looks good imo. They seem to have very similar features overall. The handsfree is excellent. My only complaint would be that searching through the 2Gb USB stick can be a bit dangerous on the move but it does pick up winamp play lists just fine so you can sort that stuff out on your PC in advance. The sound is nice too
I have a motorised front panel on a Blaupunkt Los Angeles, and to be honest - I wouldn't bother with another one. It's just slow.
