Yo hello guy's
Few questions for the Ice orientated out there.
Right i went into Dynamic Sounds on Walworth rd on the weekend with the intent of getting some kind of idea of a way to wire up two amps without having to buy two amp wiring kits (wish i did'nt know but hey )
and the geeza in the shop told me to buy this wiring kit that allows you to use two amps....So i did........Now i've got the kit in my room and i'm starting too wonder....Is this all neccessary.....The fused power distribution block that comes with it uses 4awg cable from the battery an splits it into two 4awg cables....which are fused with ANL fuses with 150amp ratings.....Now i've just got a sony Xplod 2/1 4 ohm (W) 2 x 55W rms (for my front speakers and a Crunch Blackmaxx MXB2250 2 Channel Amplifier rated at 2 x 250 Watts @ 4 Ohms 2 x 500W @ 2 Ohms
1 x 1000W @ 4 Ohms not Rms figures....Cant find them only one i can remember for sures is 1x 750w rms @4 ohms (For my sub/subs).Can i run both the amps from one of the 4awg wires of the fused distribution box by putting a 1 into 2 power distribution box at the end of da 4awg wire.....???? Sorry if this is confusing :o:

Thanks for the help in advance

yes is the short answer.

the slightly longer answer is that each amp should have its own fuse as near to it as possible and the main power cable should be fused as close to the battery as possible.

if you have not opened your amp wiring kits i'd suggest visiting maplins and pricing up some of their kit - 4 awg and 8 awg cable (off the real, know your lengths!), a 2-way fused power distribution block, 2 fuses of the correct rating for your amps - typically just under whatever the fuses on the amp casings add up to, a battery terminal coupling, an in-line under bonnet fuse holder with fuse that's just under whatever the 2 fuses you bought for the amps add up to and a couple of earth rings. you might well find this list to be a cheaper option - if so then it's refund time, or at least haggle time with the guy that sold you your kits as he'll be able to supply the above list too.
