My SI boad went tit's up so whilst replacing it i thought i'd paint my needles and fit my new LED quad bulbs to my dials

Here's some pic's of my progress:

march, That emblem is part of that dial surround finish, U can buy a sheet of them off flea bay for about 4quid i think and it gets u 10. Im sure i have sum somewhere

Glad u like the canvas, i just had some pait left on the brush and had some fun

they are 4 little LED bulbs in one unit, here a pic



They are really bright and come in a varation of different colours

Malc there really bright, as there 501's they went straight into the dash and come up with a real nice finish

i only done them this afternoon and i was only signed off on Wed's Stu.

dials looking sh*t hot mate, really nice. Just wondering if you could take a picture of your clocks at night for me so i could see the results of them led bulbs. also could you tell me where they are from etc....
They looks the dogs knackers mate! im in the middle of doing mine at the moment, i wasnt going to bother with the carbon like you have or even the chrome dials BUT after seeing yours
So far ive painted my needles the exact same colour as the m3 ones, i was gonna leave my dials black and just have the chrome alloy rings.

You can buy them from the dealer cheaper than the ebay ones...

They are fitted to the E36 M3 contour wheels - usually fitted to the M3 saloons, probably fitted to other things as well, but i know my old M3 had them on!

Ill get some pic's of the dials up once i have finished the inlet gakset (im gonna hit it)

The dials were form Metal-monkey.co.uk

The led bulbs come from motorworld, about 7quid for 2 per pack, I used 3 and wired in another bulb tot he middle of the cluster even brighter now.

Rich by all means take a look tomorrow, as long as th egasket and inlet are back on the car ill be there

you should have used the red paint to extend your red line down to 3-4000rpm so it would feel like you were going faster as the needle would always be ''in the red'' and you could shout things like... ''i'm droppin the hammer'' to your pssengers, who would be scared by the glint of LED bulbs reflecting off the chrome dials illuminating your face like when kids shine a torch under their chin to scare you!!!

but aside from that they look great!!!

update on th edials, the bulbs look fat, the needles look great during the day but come th enight u cant see th enedles for love nor money, gonnahave to find a glow in the dark paint
