was just wondering on the black insert strips are easy to paint?
Shall i take them off and paint em or mask the bumper up and spray like that? reason i ask is that i dont want the paint cracking if i do!
does plastic primer really work?

Going to need to take them off, and properly prep them. I've seen ones painted on the car, they always chip and flake where they meet the bumper.

How about the bump strips on the side of the car, these are more rubbery?

dont bother geting the spray from the shops, because they wont do that colour. best bet is a body shop, theyl charge about Ԛ£100, thats for front rear and sides.

Dont want to throw a spanner in the works, but i would say keep them black as it gives the car more definition, plus if and when some does nudge your car, odds are minor scrape will not be noticeable on black bump strips!

jordan, beutifull car, i love yours, and yes i want to do something like that, if i spray the strips it will look more cleaner, and more 'one piece'
im not gna go Mtec II route as its common and i wanna try retain factory looks but enhanced
charan, no point going to body shop and spending that! i can do it my self, im not that bad at spraying, even out of a can!
Amit i see what your saying and im not gna spray the strips on the sides for that reason!
Jordan saw some vid clips off your website, your car sounds so cool with that motor!
Btw jordan did you use plastic primer on the strips or was it normal primer??

if you are going to buy paint then take your car to a motor factors to get a better match, there can be up to a dozen variations of the same colour due to weathering ect and its unlikely it'll be spot on from a pre-mixed tinKam320i_cab wrote:yeah il give it a go next week, where cud i get the paint from? is it best to go bmw only? or is it an off the shelf colour i cant get down halfrauds or mototrists shops?
