its probably been asked before but ive not been able to find what im after. has anybody managed to put 5 1/4" speakers into the rear but still used the pods. is it possible to put an mdf ring on top sealed to box and done nicely and still have clearance between the top of the speaker and bottom of grille? i reckon them boxes would sound really good with a slightly bigger speaker in each them. ive changed the standard speakers but still got 4" in there and i would really love to get something slighly bigger

what i want tho is to use the pods as having the speakers in an enclosure will be better than if they're free to air. tho i suppose i could make mdf rings and bond the rings to the inside of the boot panels etc

i have mdf rings for my 6x9's in my parcel shelf, although it isnt a tourer.

from my local car shop, they sell 6x9 box enclosures, maybe get them and then place them somewhere in the boot in the corner?

i bet having rings at least helps stop the parcel shelf flexing thus helping the bass a bit
