help with wheels
Moderator: martauto
Hi lads and laddetts,
I am undecided whether to go with some 15" deepdish wheels or somthing like 16 or 17" alpinas (poss replica), what do you think would suit a black tech1
Or if there is any other styles please show me and post pics on this thread
Thanks

16s are indeed the business. Look top, without the issues some people report from 17s.
Ok, so they're not on a black tech-1, but I like my Hartges!

Hartges, Alpinas & BBS are probably the most popular types, but there's a million and one others out there... If I were you, I'd steer away from replicas, but it depends how much you want to spend really.
There's plenty of nice deep 15s out there too - always fancied some mims myself

205/50s
Mine came with knackered 225/45s on the back, but I'm glad I got rid of them before fitting - pretty sure I'd have had clearance issues...

Tony you can have a look at mine on the weekend, I have both 205/50 and 225/45!!!
16"s do rock and IMO is the best size for the e30 but some will say 15s.
Agree with Ziggy - avoid reps as generally not build to original standards and every one has 'em!

just gone back to 16s on mine
currently 205/45s front
and 225/45s on rear
but will more than likely change these pretty soon
will prob go 205/50 or maybe 215/50??
225s seem ok so far but only been for a quick drive since i put em on this morning

don't forget it's the 'width' that fills the arches
16" Hartges are 7.5J (7.5 inches wide) - at least mine are!
So if that's your goal, make sure you buy 7.5J rather than 7J

it is possible to go withother offsets, eg. like an offset of 35 but you will need 10mm spacers to pull the wheel away from the brakes and to stop them rubbing on the suspension, you will also need longer wheel bolts,
anyway that is how my team dynamics "Osaka"s are fitted and without any probs
