Right....I'm going to have a go at doing the two tone thing on my wheels (silver rim with dk grey spokes/centres) :)

After looking through the ETK, I know that BBS came in either Nogaro or Granite silver, but can anyone tell me which is the lighter of the two colours or the name of the brightest silver that BMW do? :?

And can anyone recommend a good BMW dark grey colour.

Try this site. They don't do the actual paint, but they do show colours and paint codes. Hope this helps

the lightest E30 silver is sterling but i don't think it would look alot different to normal silver on the wheels.

I don't think they did use granite in the centres just nogaro

Hi Simon

The ETK lists both Nogaro & Granite for the complete original wheel so I presume that it was an optional thing.
There probably wasn't a lot of difference anyway :)

So Sterling silver it is for the outer edges then :) :thumb:

Now what about the dark grey for the spokes / centres ?

Accentuate :D (I had to use spellcheck to get it right)

Your right Matt, it does.
There are a couple of guys on here that have done it & it looks really understated but nice, especially on dark coloured cars.

Talk about coincidences :o

Just spotted that 'kdevitt' is flogging some BBS's in the For Sale section & guess what ?

So Anthracite is leading the field in the dk grey stakes :D

If you want a standard look to the edge of the rims, I recommend Polaris Silver.

Not too fussed about the standard look Chris (or I would'nt be painting them :D )
Just want the brightest silver I can find to give a good contrast to the dk grey centres.

I'd love to get them polished, but I'm doing this on a budget so it's down to wet & dry and sore fingers.
I'd just have stumps left if I tried to polish them winkeye
or do them like my alpinas
They are one tidy looking set of wheels 8) . BK171's?
My set of Alpina reps don't have the flat, outer edge on them though, so it would be a right bitch to mask them up for the dividing line between the colours.

Thanks for the input though fellas :thumb:

Can hardly miss them mate :D
Lovely looking set of wheels, and on the right colour car they'd be the nuts, but they're a bit too :bling: for my taste.
