i have just bought an 89 325 touring and am waiting to pick it up, its not due til midweek and i want to get excited about what stereo goodies to put into it but i dont know what size the speakers in the back are. anybody know? am probably gonna make some builds for the kick panels so i can put some 6 1/2" speakers in cos lets face it the standard location is quite poo. the last e30 i had an install had i put tweeters in the heater vents, was a pain to get the vents out without damaging the dash tho so this time i will get physical with the fibreglass and make something to house some components. what sort of systems have other zoners got that they are proud of?

the speakers are 4" if you intend to change them you need to use a speaker which has not got a magnet too big!!!! kenwood dual mags would do the trick nicely

tomtomiS,
I'm also thinking of building a decent sq system in my tourer. Most probably a 5.25" 2way frontstage and a 10" or 8" sub at the back. I hope i can get away from not cutting through metal...

im thinking of taking out the spare wheel and hassling my chippy friend if he can "help" me build an amp rack to go in there instead, i reckon on there being enough room for two amps laid out in a showy off kinda manner with a couple of fans to keep them cool. then for subs i was thinking off using my pair of jl 12w3's but the box is huge so i would have to get a load cover to hide them.
