Hi all, great site, i learnt lots about my car before even taking delivery of it.

its an october 1989 325i exec trim(sunroof,electric everything,obc etc)

i want to fit an IS style "mtech-2" bodykit. but all i can get is fibreglass replica.

thing is, this car has only 180 000km on it, one owner, full history. the car is spotless! only some slight surface rust spots here and there in the boot..
otherwise this car is fully original, dash has no cracks. seats look like new.full leather.

is there any1 at all that has an IS bodykit for 4door car to sell me?

someone thats prepared to post it via royal mail or something to me here in south africa??

willing to pay the price, seller would have to bubble-wrap the kit thouroughly though.. perhaps wrap it in cardboard afterwards.

*wishful thinking i suppose*

the fibreglass kit that i can get is reasonably neat.. needs some good sanding etc.. perhpas some spot filler here and there.

as i have the thin rubber trim on my vehicle i dont see how im going to mount the biggish MTECH2 side panels on that as the guy in the tuner-shop suggested. from what ive read ive got to mould the panels into the door. now from the few years of my iasca sound quality competitions im not scared of using fibreglass etc..

there is a product i use.. called FIBRAL polyester paste. its basically a fibreglass paste, pink in color when catalysed. very strong.. i used it to mount plastic blocks for mounting spotlights when i did my bumper for my pickup.. worked well..

i obviously cant mould the panels into the doors around the edges as this will modify the "lines" and the kit wont look right.

so does it get fibreglassed on the door from behind the panel?

i.e bomb plenty of past behind the panel and "stick" it on? perhaps a rivet or too for strengh???

any ideas?

the thought of molesting the doors on this MINTER i bought scares me..

if anyone could give me advice i'd be grateful!!

oh yes, i use paypal...just by the odd chance that someone can sell me a geniune bmw kit. or part thereoff.. perhaps just the MTECH2 panels...

then i need votes???

rear mtech2 type spoiler??? can get one with intergrated brake light.. or withouth.. which should i go for.... votes people?

or should i merely color-code the existing "lip" thats currently on the bumper?

regards
Anton
