I have a nice and tidy 325i SE and am not keen on the chrome around the windows.
The car has pop out rear windows.
To de-chrome, what exactly do I have to do? I have been looking to buy a de-chrome kit from a zoner breaking his car, but recently noticed his were from a car without pop out windows.
Is this a difficult job? How do I do it? Is it possible to fit the de-chrome strip from a non pop-out car to my pop out windows.
The glass in my car is absolutely mint, no old age etching or anything as the car has been garaged for years and is nigh on mint. I am keen to keep my glass you see.
If anyone can help I'd be over t'ut moon..
Many Thanks.
Jai

When I removed the chrome round my windows I totally buggered it, however fitting the dechrome wasnt too hard, just need a bit of gentle persuasion with screw drivers and hands, one of those things that you will get the hang of when you do it - thats how I did it anyway.

Did the chrome from the rear window section come off?
I'm really trying to pin down whether or not I can take the black bit from a non pop out rear window and fit it to an ex-chromed rear pop out window..Without destroying it!
Cheers

well I actually dechromed a 4dr car, so cant help with the pop outs.
I took the chrome (beige) window surrounds out and replaced these, this was ok to do, be patient and careful, did the front windcreen surround too.
If you want a full dechrome set, and havent found one by next monday or so I will be able to help you, got a full shadowline kit from a sport with pop outs.
