I've recently done a DIY refurb on my MiM 1900's. I used Halfrauds Wheel Silver paint, with lacquer on top.
I'm a bit disappointed as they're darker/duller than I would have liked. What I really wanted was a bright shiny silver.
Would I have done better to use the BMW Wheel Silver?
Someone suggested I should have used F**d Stratos Silver, "that's what all the profesh refurbers use mate"!
Cheers
Stuart.

Bite the bullet and get them refubed

Here are mine recently done by Lepsons in Kent, but there should be a firm local to you

Halfords are crap for every single paint i have bought off them, people steer clear.

I have to agree with Paul on this, i just bought some re-furbed wheels and the finsih is just as new. Otherwise try the dealers, and zayyan has some cans of silver wheel paint i think? I will check. He bought it from the dealers.

I don't need to bite the bullet and get them refurbed. I did it myself and the finish is quite acceptable. The wheels don't need to be as good as, or better than, new because the car isn't in that condition either.
My question was meant to come across as "What is a nice shiney silver paint compared to the dull Halfrauds one?"
I know I can get the BMW paint from the dealers, the part number is 51 91 1 900 344. But is it any better than the Halfrauds one, and is my "mate" right in what he says about the F**d colour?
Stuart.

Ford Stratos is a decent colour, as is Vauxhall Star Silver.

BMW Polaris Silver is even better.

Ok ok. Zay used the paint and i have seen it up close. It looks close to the level of a profesional re-furb to me. Depends how good at spraying you are also. :?

Can anyone tell me.....
What is the correct colour for "normal" 15" BBS? Is it the BMW Wheel Silver, or is it some other colour. I know the Motorsport ones were done in one of the silver body colours.
I need to get it right as I'm only doing the lips on my BBS, the spokes and the centres are ok.
Cheers
Stuart.

Polaris Silver. The motorsports had Nogaro centres.
