My satnav (tomtom / pda) has gone on the blink (again), so I'm contemplating replacing it rather than figuring out what's wrong & breaking out the soldering iron (I'll probably fix it sometime to use in other cars though)...

I'd preferably like something that comes built into a headunit, just for tidiness sake. I'd then obviously have to get rid of my current headunit / mp3 changer, so the new one'd have to have some way of carrying a large amount of music! Playing mp3 disks would just about do, but I'd prefer a mp3 changer, or ipod interface etc.

So what's out there? Anyone got anything that they'd recommend? I know blaupunkt do some (that look nice too), but do they do mp3? & how do the navigation solutions compare to the likes of tomtom?

Cheers! :D

I've played with a few in the shop (alpine, pioneer and kenwood) and i've gotta say i actually preferred the kenwood jobbie!! 7" touchscreen and sat nav is on a hard disk!! They do an ipod adaptor for it, and i'm sure kenny must do a mp3 cd changer!!

Expensive stuff though!!

BTTT! Anyone got a becker (or any of the others)?

The newer beckers can play mp3 CDs, and there's also an ipod adapter available for them... I don't have an ipod though, and it'll be annoying to have to swap the CD every time you want to use the navigation (although you can remove the navigation CD once you've programmed your destination I think).

An adaptor to use a kenwood mp3 CD changer would be the perfect solution (because I've got one!), but I can't see that happening... no biggie anyway - I can always sell it & get something new.

Cmon, someone must have a becker headunit? They look so much better than your average flashy lights jobbie!
