I don't know if you have seen the tailord kits from the USA by mimosa which you can buy on ebay, they do a load of different ones including real carbon fibre.

Has anyone used them, I have always liked a bit of wood in a car and as mine is an SE and not a sport then I am thinking bit more of the luxury side of things. Although Carbon is cool. I like the marble wood which looks like my m8s 5 series and is quite modern.
I know that some of the alpina e30s had wood kits so there is a precedent.

What do you think?

I prefer and also have the wood in my car. Personally I think it looks good - its different without being OTT.

Will take some piccies if you want ?

Gotta say, if either, it would have to be Carbon (as long as it's proper, real carbon!).

I'm not keen on wood trim and i don't think there's many cars it looks right in. Can look good sometimes though!

In Total BMW October 2003 Alpina Special Issue there are various Alpina E30s with wood trim particularly a B6 3.5 really adds to the upmarket feel.

dont know about that but the only ones i have seen in the uk are the foliatec ones and they look a bit crappy...this company in the states

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... AMEWA%3AIT

say they do one but remember there is 17.5% vat on the total (inc carriage and an 8% duty on top

I have emailed the manufacturers to see if they do it in RHD ...I have found the retailer charges £26 carriage but the have an agent in Eire

i will post when i get a reply

Dave, I have been looking at the mimosa ones on ebay, they are sold by various dealers on there and they do say that they come in RH version. However I have tried enmailing a couple of them to ask about the RH versions and not had any replies. I would be interested to know how you get on. They do look much better than the folitec ones which isn't that hard.

A tip for getting anything in from the states is to ask the seller to lable the item as a gift, some will even agree to put a birthday card in with the bits. This avoids the duty.

Another one is to say they are warranty/ replacements

I have had a reply from a USA dealer on ebay

"Right Hand Drive kit also available. To make sure you get the correct pieces, please send us digital pictures of your center console and lower console to xcessorystore@gmail.com "

Shipping & Handling cost to UK is USD 70.00 via Express Mail with tracking#.

I think that a wooden or realcarbon kit probably works out at just over a £100 including the postage etc but that does not include if you get sticthed up on customs
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... AMEWA%3AIT

I am really tempted 8)

Fair play but with Andy E cracking funnies it was hard not to.

BTW I am looking to replace my wood with new wood and currently cannot source RHD kit.

Anyone know where kits are available ????

Loads of German and American but no RHD as yet.

I am looking for one which includes along the top section of the door cards as well.
