god damn! if your gona go a proper job of it,,, your gonna be spending a heck of alot,,, a went through a whole bulk pack of second skin damplifier Pro, :
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... ts_id=4853

and thatr was just to do the damn boot,, which i havnt even finished as i havnt dont the drivers side compartment fully,, neither have i done the lid...

thats 36sqft,,,,, = bulk pack of this, dynamate extreme, and some others.

madness!! and i think it does need another coating, to get that solid wood sound.

heres some videos of the improvement,, espcecially in the spare wheel well!!

i didnt even have enough to do the rear deck! ^^

i did double up where behind the number plate is,, cos that is very thin and still not good enough,, can see it resonating like a bitch,, so might add a 3rd layer... gotta keep it under 4mm in order to be able to compete so not sure if i can add another layer.. anyway heres some videos of the tap test:)

I didn't notice all that stuff in there the other day mate. Certainly takes the tinny sound out of the bodywork doesn't it?
Cheers for all those parts you sold me from the emporium. Wish I had need for more to subsidise this new conversion. Keep this thread going - want to see what happens next...

do you have sore backs of knees and lower back?

so long as you deaden the centre of every panel you'll get good results. you must be aiming for the sky...

my hamstrings are now used to it,, as ive build the build for the amps and battery,,, (getting a 50kg battery in an out the wheel well over 10 times HURTS!!!)

ive worked 4 days solid by the 3rd my hamstrings gave up hurting! they developed  but my back still killing!!! will get pics of the build soon enough :)

and yes,,, i need to ensure the bass is clean, and seeing as theres going to be alot of power behind it,, i need to minimise the panal vibration as much as poss. the wheel well has made the best improvement!! but the stupid liscense plate backing still a bit tinny.

just been for a drive,,, the exhaut note is alot quiter now,, less noise travelling through! gives a smoother feel,,, ill do the floor pan eventually and hope to eliminate roadnoise,,, or i ll just see how it all goes.

its so nice and shiny!

I know what you mean by it not going far. I used to do db comps in my Fiat Stilo (2x15" subs with a 150 db high) and I used a bulk pack and a bit of Dynamat Xtreme, but it didnt improve my db at all! Stopped the rear quarters from flapping in and out though (dodgy Fiat bodywork!).

The main downside to it though, is the weight if you use the car everyday, my fuel economy was shocking (lucky to get 22mpg on a run with a 1.6 16v engine).

the way i look at it with subs amps, batts, deadening wiring etc,, all in,, it prob wieghs as much as 3 big fellas in my car... so far iv loaded 80 kgs,,, (wood batt, sound deadening amp) so loads more left,,but thats like 1 guy and so far aint too bad

wait till you've done the whole car and youll certainly feel the weight, and youll definitely hear the difference when you close the doors as it will be much more of a denser sound. I went throught 3 bulk packs in my motorsport and was left with about 1/2 a sheet left which ive never got round to putting anywhere
