Has anyone on the board fitted a factory black headliner? I'm planning on replacing my grubby off-white one with black. Seems cool enough, but I'm a bit worried about making the car feel like a cave.

Thoughts?

My iS came with a black headlining, as do all of our 325i sports. I think it looks great! but then i'm slightly biased :D

Go for it!

Do it! I'm planning on doing the same to my touring at some point. I've just spent an hour fitting the roof clips for a combi load cover and had to drop the back end of the headling it might be easier than you think!!

Black headlinings look so much more modern inside than grubby cream.

you need to brush with watered down acrylic then spray it with proper vynil spray, looks mint then, ive done roof linings and parcel shelfs like that before and you cant tell atall, touring roof lining sat next to me now cost £30 and looks good, even under a light like it wont be seen in car it looks even

Not sure if this is popular or not on the other side of the pond, but I sell a lot of these headliners. They are made of Microsuede. The flash makes the color turn a different hue, it is black though. Should be cheaper than OEM at one of your trim shops.
