Window tinting?

Anyone tinted their own windows?? I was up at Halfrauds the other day, but I wasn't sure which film to go for... There seems to be various sizes of film, and several grades of tint...

What have other people gone for? Any info would be greatfully appreciated!

dont do it yourself. even if you spend ages doing it, invariably, you'll get bubbles, and 3 months down then line you'll have it peeling.

can anyone tell me how much its likely to cost to get them done professionally?

i know a guy in essex that can do them he charges around £140

£140 is very cheap,ive been quoted between £220-£260 but i suppose a touring has more glass to cover.you can buy car specific kits that are cut to shape but i dont know how they are for fitting.i believe its now illegal to do the front side windows so i dont know if it can fail an mot for it?

you can still get the front done but they cant be too dark as the windows them selfs are tinted 30% from factory

the guy prob charge the same for your tourer let me know if you wna get it done il give you the guys number he does a good job

my mate got his car done i got a few mates that wnaa get theres done if you want to get your doen too the guy might sort it out cheaper as theres 3 cars

deffo go for the professional job dont do it yourself...

i had my 4 door done a few years ago for £190 (i think i know it was less than 200)

i got my front windows done as well, quite dark and police have never said anything and gone through 2 mot's since and nothing was said by the testers...


if you get pulled just say they were fitted when you got the car (or at least pre 2001) then there legal..
