Hey All, Im a newbie with my first ever BMW, and am starting to make a few changes.
Just wondering what kind of exhausts are out there, to get a slightly meatier sound from my little 4Pot 318i!
Don't really want a totally "Boy Racer" sound, but just something that gives a slight boom.
Any Ideas would be much appreciated

ay up mate,im a bit of a newbie in the same situation as you,ive bin told dat powerflow are pro's at all car exhausts, and you can choose the volume and tone of exhaust sound you want!theyre not the cheapest, but ive seen some of their work n its top rate!

powerflow exhaust reputations vary wildly so be sure to examine some of their fitted systems before committing what will inevitably be a decent amount of money for some of their work. there's good powerflow exhaust centres and operatives and some not so good....

stealth in southampton are excellent and have done a superb job on my 4 pot. nobody has ever had a bad word to say about them - they take their time and get everything just right.

supersprint also make a very nice 3 piece system for the m40 4s - 4 branch manifold, front section and rear. it's supposed to be truly excellent but will set you back the best part of 700 notes fitted.

the factory manifold is very good and you have to go some way to beat it for flow rate and efficiency - anything cheap may look good but will almost certainly hamper performance.

Make sure you know if its a m10 1983-1987 or a m40 1988+ engined car as the exhaust is different.
