As the thread says i brought two sets of infinity kappa 507cs speakers for my cab this weekend on recomendation from ice direct. They are a straight replacement (apart from tweeter) component speaker which im having fitted next weekend.

Has anyone had any dealings with these speakers and also i was told that they needed to be run in and then amplified for the best results. Is this correct as they sounded mega in the shop on and infinity amp.

I have 6.5" Infinity on the rear shelf with "poseable" tweeters, best speakers I've ever had, freq response and punce/vocals is superb, had a good 100 hours running in time, warmed them up nicely

My Kappa sub (12") took a good few months to loose its hard edged sound, now its warm and drops like a champion.

Fronts need swopping out, be interested to hear what yours sound like once fitted dude

-totally agree on the amp though, headunit amps are poop, regadless of the claimed output, a lower wattage power amp soon kicks the internal unit into touch

I had a set of infinity kappa 6.5" components ( I think yours might be the newest version) they cost me £160 although I never got them fitted and ended up selling them to a mate.

Really wish I hadnt as now that there fitted, they sound awsome and thats just running through a headunit.

You can get them here too: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INFINITY-Kappa-50 ... dZViewItem

I bought some Infinity 5012i for the rear shelf from there and they arrived next day.

I've got an infinity sub too - great stuff :thumb:

Really can't recommend amping up your front speakers enough... I put it off for ages, until Placey finally convinced me I had to do it... Think about the size of amp you can fit in a headunit, & then take the power figures the manufacturers supply, & laugh!

I couldnt agree more, one of the best things you can do. Headunit amps, no matter how good / expensive the headunit is, are always nothing compared to standalone amps.
