Alrite people!
I need to lower my ride approx' 40mm!
What are the pros and cons of:
just getting lowering springs
or the full suspension kit?
Is it just about the budget or is there a massive difference worth saving for?
Much appreciated!

standard shox you will only be able to go 40mm on lowering springs, 60mm will bottom out like fook...
suspension kits idealy mate as everything will be renewed also everything will be matched! all depends on how much you want to spend at the end of the day... you can lower your car from about £95 right up to £1000+ obviously when you spend big money your gonna get set-up#s like coilover over kits and things like that where you can actually lower the car to the height you want it 30mm right down to around 85mm, however any lower than 60mm and your asking for trouble in my opinion!
you can get a cheap suspension kit though for £165 (PI) or something like that or you could go for the H&R kit or cupkit.. bit more money but well worth the beans.
hope this helps mate

Alrite Mate!
That's a great start to my research, cheers bruv!! Very Informative!
I haven't got the budget of a king! so i guess the question for everyone is What is the lowest £Â£Ã‚£ i should go for the best results - What is a good middle of the road kit?

How much have you got to spend max mate? Im getting a H&R cup kit at the end of the month which is dampers and springs for about £350. That way im getting a 35mm drop and much improved handling. If you just buy lowering spring your ride quality will suffer as the springs arnt properley matched to the dampers. Although if your not really bothered about the handling and just want it lower, go for it!
If you can wait a couple of weeks, il let you now what the H&R kit its like
Julian
ps. dont cut your orginal springs either!
