Tweeter Fitting/ Wire Running in Cab

Hi Guys

Need some help im trying to fit a pair of tweeter tot he mirror base plates however cant fins any room in the door plug or any othe rgromets.

Does this mean i will have to drill a gromet in??

Any one got any tricks or suggestions??

I'm not exactly sure what problems you're having here, but i fitted tweeter pods recently and all the wiring was ready and waiting behind the mirror plates. It was pretty much just a case of plug and play. As far as i know all E30's came prepped for tweeters ...

i have had my door plug out last week and there is space to get lots of wires through and there should be wiring in for the tweeters already

Yeah, there's a hole in the middle of the plug that will take a good sized cable if required. You may have to remove a small plastic blanking plug, but the hole is there.

Not all cars are pre-wired for the tweeters. My Sport wasn't anyway.

be very careful when you push any wires through as you can dislodge anything thats loose

from experience, when fitting my door popper... if your car hasnt got heated wing mirrors, the wires should already be there from factory. if you take a look behind the drivers side front speaker, you will find 2 (i think green wires) that are un used, these run through the door plug already and come to an end around the mirror area.

Yes there should be 2 green redundant wires behind the mirror which go into the door plug, they then change colour but easily traced

Result

Took the door card off and found the pre wire for the tweeter, traced the colour of the wire into the car and found the wire tape up in the loom, connected the crossover's to the wire and it was sorted.

Man. i was just going to shout at yer for messing with yer grommets and drilling bloomin holes when the wiring is already there for the tweeters lol

I cant see any wires in place for my E30. Its an F plate and has electric mirrors, which I can see the wiring for but cannot see the wiring for the tweeters.

Has anyone got any pic?
