Cerwin's are not as good as makes like infinity, Rockford Fosgate, Polk Audio etc.
However, given the price your paying you might aswell try them out.
Cerwin's tend to be very hish sensitvity (hence will go loud without needing lots of power) and have alot of bass. Generally speaking they are not that good at producing musical very accurately.

ive been miss informed then..... i had infinity before to be honest they were quite good speakers but i thought they were too crisp and lacking bass! rockfords are looking like a very testy option though, thanks sal

Infinity: 5.25" Speakers - Reference 5012i
Product Code:INFINITY-REF5012I
Our Price: £59.99, phoned him earlier and quoted me £40
Product Features
Power Handling, RMS: 45 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 135 Watts
Sensitivity: 91dB
Frequency Response: 67Hz - 21kHz
Mounting Depth: 2-1/4"
Impedance: 4 Ohms.
Product Description
Plus One woofer cones - This patent pending technology deliver a cone with more surface area than competing models of the same size. The result is increased bass output and higher efficiency.
Edge-driven silk dome tweeters - These are not commonly used W-domes, but fully edge driven domes like those found in fine home audio loudspeakers. This much larger voice coil increases power handling and provides better sonic integration with the mid-woofer.
Unipivot - To ensure proper imaging the 5012i utilizes a patented rotating tweeter (patent no. 6,002,780). So even if the speaker is mounted down low in the door, the soundstage can be brought up and optimized for the listener's location.

I never said that there was anything wrong with Cerwin Vega, I know that Audiobahn are rubbish though. I bought some of their stuff before and it was pants. Cerwin Vega make some good stuff although you are buying from the bottom of the range, it's just that these kind of makes are out there for loudness not quality. So I would recommend Infinity, I was thinking of getting two sets of Kappa 6.5's for the front doors

iv always used an alpine head unit with infinity speakers, the best setup imo. for the best results, its better to get the speakrs wired up to an amp.
infinities are good value for money an wont hurt the bank either.

I bought a set of Infinity 5012i from ebay for £46 delivered for the rear shelf. I'm using them with an Alpine CDA-9851 and I'm very impressed with the result. I'm planning to get the 5010cs components for the front to replace the old Alpines I stuck in there as a temporary measure, so as the comments above I can really recommend them.
