Found some e36 leather
wondering how hard it is to fit.will the rears go?
any help would be great.

somewhere between very difficult and impossible. Probably just lined up alongside the expression MOT failure.

Maybe the subframes will swap, but I doubt it.

The fronts will need re-inforcing plates in the car floor.

The rears are a different set-up all together, the rear seat backs are 3 piece in an e36, yet one piece in an e30.

yeah u can there is a lil work you need to do on it though...

yes it can be done, there is a few guys on here who have done it. you will need to mod the base frame to get them to work.

i reckon i will keep looking for a set of e30 leather,prefer the origanal look any way.cheers for the advice

i have started to fit my seats the rears have holes already but i have had to drill the front holes into the floor plan and support with large thick washers

theirs a pick of the seat int he ca ron bmw chat forum

This is insufficient. The securing bolts will shear through the floor panels in a crash situation. The sturdy washers need welding in place and I'd recommend some strengthening braces welded in place too. 2mm ish thickness.

Thanks for taking the advice in the way it is intended.
I have offended others with this advice before. Even if it is over-kill for the mot, consider this:
Ruining a car in a crash is one thing, but it becomes a real tradgedy if your seat mounts fail.
The moving seat adds weight to your momentum, the seat belt won't save you as it clips into the seat, not the floor pan.

When you get them fitted please post up the pics!
