Hi, just spotted this kit on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E30-MTec-Body ... dZViewItem
The seller says the kit will only fit chrome bumper E30's. So I was wondering would it be worth paying the cheap price and then trying it on my non - chrome bumper car. Has anyone tried this, is it a pig?
Cheers, Julian

The rear bumper will be a bastard to fit and pretty pointless.
Definite that the sideskirts will go straight on, and pretty sure the front bumper will too.

hi guys thought i would post this here as its on topic. i just helped fit a rear real sport mtech 2 bumper to a chrome bumper 325i cabby. cut the rear mount holes out quite easy had all the clips ect.. from the sport. and to be fair it went strait on and looks great from rear no gaps ect.. but where the bumper meets the rear arch it will not fit tight. after looking at the sport arches there is a difference. the cabby arch seems to bulge out more where as the sport realy has the groves tailor made on the arch for everything to slip into place. my question is how did the guys that have faced this type of problem solve it. 1 drill and bolt on then fill and paint over or is there another way. on my cabby that already had this fitted (87 plate) they used the bolt option and painted over. if anyone can shed in light on this it would be great. cheers b.

cant help fix it but can explain difference... the face lift/plastic bumper cars had a different rear seat height and this meant the wheel arch was a slightly different profile (this was top improve rear legroom) thats why it does not match up. your cab is preface lift, the sport a facelift.
also note there is no difference between sport arches and non-sport arches on the Mk1 and mk2
i am fitting the tech 2 rear bumper to my facelift cab and it goes on with no issues.

The arches are different, compare a pre / post face lift car together and you will notice that the arch is higher and a different radius on the pre-facelift. This is true on all saloons & cabs, that's why you have to play about to get a Mtech II bumper to fit the rear of a pre-facelift car.mrLEE30 wrote:also note there is no difference between sport arches and non-sport arches on the Mk1 and mk2

I think he meant there's no difference between Sport and non-Sport arches on either the mark 1 or mark 2 mate.E30Mark wrote:The arches are different, compare a pre / post face lift car together and you will notice that the arch is higher and a different radius on the pre-facelift.
