im about to fit an mtech 2 rear spoiler,any advice?should i mark it out or buy a template from bmw? how much are they? cheers

Probably doesn't help, but I'd buy a bootlid with spoiler holes already there.
After you sell yours the money you'll lose (if you do lose any) will be well worth the hassle saved.
I'm lazy though.
