Radio not working

Hi everyone i just recently got my first e30 and i am having trouble trying to get the radio to work. I have been told it is a eurovox model radio. I have done research and most people say i just need to obtain a code for the radio to make it work, but when i turn the radio the only 2 symbols that come up are the number 1 and the letter f. There is no prompt for a code input. Does anyone know how to get the radio to work? Any help is Appreciated. I have pictures of the radio and the symbols but i dont know how to post them with this topic.

Thanks mate the website really has helping and i understand what i need to do now to get the radio working thanks. I have had a look in the car and there is no code and the owner did no have one. ill have a search on the web to see if i can get a code if not ill take it to a BMW dealer.
