Hi Chaps,
I got my car 323i off an OAP and as record players where never (routinely) insalled in cars they percieved no need for ICE. The car has no speakers, looms or anything.
I was wondering if someone might suggest what the most economical way of going about putting a basic system in. CD player and radio, stereo rather than HI FI.
I was thinking of a scrappy?
Presumably free installation of a stereo in Halfords or some such means, free re-installation into an existing system.
Cheers
No ICE what so ever

your cheapest choons route is going to be second hand. (well stolen really, but that's not my style) get the seller to demo any potential purchase before parting with any money. most scrappies keep a pile of stereos - get them to demo too. if you can't hear it working then it's not worth any money.
if you have a battery charger or spare battery or any 12v source at home you can trial run your setup to learn what you need in terms of cabling. you can then transfer this to your motor, it's only a question of baring back wires and joining them together.
the ice article will tell you most of what you need to know, ask here if you get stuck...
on a basic level you need a headunit and some 5 1/4inch speakers to get you going....
