Need help on deciding on system for my 325i cab. One of the rear trim panels is knackered so i was thinking of fitting 6x9's with the covers covering the damage, but am a bit worried it will look a bit naff, also am on a budget as loads to do on the car, so am looking at about Ԛ£200 for cd, front and rear speakers.

yeah, I'll skip the 6x9's, that really was a bad idea.
I've got so much to spend on the old girl, mechanically, but need some sounds. Which make, Alpine etc.. would be a help.

to get a decent sound on that budget i'd recomend JBL 13cm speekers all round leavin u bout a ton for a head unit! personaly i love pioneer and really dont like alpine as there base engine can be quite hard to use for a beginner the same for kenwood they can also be hard to use and avoid fony like the plague but at the end of the day its personal preference and what u can afford! try ebay u can get some crackin bargins.

many thanks for that, I'll plumb for the speakers, just want a simple plug and play (too old for too much base anyway). I've always liked pioneer as well, I thought sony would be good too. Does cabling make a diff to the sound as well?

personaly im a Kenwood fan, when I got my three ways in the kick panels recently (Ԛ£60) I enquired about a CD player. They start around Ԛ£100 and go up from there

for about Ԛ£80 aiwa do a nice mp3 head unit, colour change display 180 watts 4 channel, 2 pre outs.
so if your after a nice head unit with crisp sound but not wanting to fit amps, components its not a bad choice.
also has remote so you can sit in the garage and change songs turn up etc..... what an added bonus!
you do not need to spend Ԛ£100's to get a great sound just match the unit and speakers well, try them out at your local dealers and then look in classifieds (mail order for the one you like and save bucket loads.
