Im new to the e30 world. I have just purchased a pristine 1990 325i. It has 215,000km on it but has been amazingly looked after.

I want to upgrade the stereo system as the original one is not cutting it anymore. Ive been reading up on e30 stereo swaps and have read a few times that it is easier to rewire the majority of speaker lines etc. due to the fact that the original speakers were all grounded individually.

I have very limited experience with stereo systems but Ive studied electrical fundamentals and am confident I can do it either way.

What are your thoughts? should I rewire all my speakers? or just use the standard wiring?

If you're upgrading the speakers, then rewire. at the same time clean up all the earthing points and mke sure the power supply to the headunit is sound .
