Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade the shitty RipSpeed head unit I was lumbered with when I bought my car a few days ago...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RIPSPEED-DVD- ... 500wt_1203
This isn't mine, but just an example!
I'm gonna get a pioneer head unit which has all the buttons in red (matching I know), but I thought, if I wanna upgrade my stereo system, might as well do it properly!
Anyone know what size the front and back speakers are in a E30 325 coupe as standard!
Also, feel free to give me advice on what you've done to yours... I'm looking for examples where the car hasn't been butchered to fit the speakers... Also whether upgrading the wires are worth it!
Thanks!!

I picked up the slighter older version of this JVC headunit which lights up in the same colours as the standard E30 ligthing for £50 in the halfords clearence.
A 2nd hand 4 channel alpine amp on ebay for £25.
Fronts I'm running 3 way JBL GTO 5.25" full range speakers and rears kenwood dualmags, another ebay bargain at £20. There hard to get a hold of now as they stopped making them a few years ago but very good sound quality.
In the boot a 10" sub so it has some bass, but nothing too ridiculous.
All in all the whole system cost me about £120 the only new part being the head unit. The sound is very good and a fraction of the price of a brand new setup.

good advice pal... I guess what I'm learning from being a E30 owner is it's a game to try and hunt for bargain whilst customising your car. I've looked for your stuff, but it's all full price at the moRtaylor2208 wrote:I picked up the slighter older version of this JVC headunit which lights up in the same colours as the standard E30 ligthing for £50 in the halfords clearence.
