Replacing E30 amsterdam radio
Moderator: martauto
you probably can't buy an adapter any more
you can buy female iso connectors which come with a length of wire attached to the pins, you can then cut your old connector off the loom and crimp connect the the iso plugs in.
it's pretty simple, headunits come with clear wiring colour guides, you'd just need to find the correcponding colour wires in the e30 loom.
speakers are obvious as theyre in coloured pairs, then you should have a constant 12v, and ignition switched 12v, an earth, an electric aerial signal wire and possibly a dash illumination wire.
if you don't fancy doing it yourself, a decent auto electrician on car audio shop should be able to do it in half an hour.
the plus side of wiring an iso connector in is that any aftermarket radio made in the last 20 years should plug straight in should you ever want to change it.
