Looking for some recommendations for replacement speakers to upgrade the OEM stuff.

I know nothing about "ICE", I'm not interested in Amp's Sub's and all that chav bollox - I just want some decent quality component speakers to fit in the standard Speaker pods in the back and footwell holes in the front.

I don't want stuff I've got to mess about with to fit - no cutting of the grilles or "modifications" of any sort -what have other zoners used that I can bolt straight in ?

Also I have the door mirror mounted tweeter pods - can the internals of these be upgraded to match to keep the OEM look ?

Rob,
Comps in the rear pods are do-able,but you'll need to find some with a 4"/10cm mid range shallow depth driver otherwise you'll need a spacer to clear the magnet.
I've used MB Quart in the rear and the mid fits without a spacer.

The standard nokian tweeters can be removed and new ones glued/bonded in.

It'll be best to measure the diameter of the std Nokian tweeter and then search for a 13cm/ 5 1/4" comp set with a tweeter small enough to fit. h the rear, I use 19mm MB Quart tweeters with old skool Alpine reference series mids

5000 posts and you're running stock speakers 8O

I've got pioneers in the rear, sound great considering they're 4 inches. They're a long way back though so only for "space" or rear passenger benefit. In the front have some vibe something or other, about £35 from caraudiosecurity.com. The pioneers were about £40 I think. I'd go for pioneer every time.

I found the front kick panels worked loose - wiring or speaker mounts not sure - and rattle after a time destroying the sound, so pad it out with something. Acoustimat or something else - I'm trying to work out a cheap solution for when I refit maybe this weekend.

The other option for the fronts is the rare factory fit mirror covers with component cut outs. They're sometimes available to import from the US and I reckon would look pretty fooking cool, though the wiring would be a little less straightforward. Expensive though....

get some decent 5.25" comps for from and really good 4" comps for rear and wire it all upto an amp thats the best you can do factory wise.

for me ive got some fook off 10" 100w rms speakers to go in the side compartments of my touring in boot along with some 100w rms 5.25 inch comps for front along with a 100w rms x4 amp :D
