Recommend a good make of tyre please

After a set of 215/40x17" tyres.
For price I've looked at Toyo, Yokohama and Falken, I got Falken on my E46 M3 and they are a good tyre in the dry but got a lot less grip in the wet so don't really want them on my E30.
I've heard in the past that Yokohamas are good but dont last long, so that leaves Toyo, how good are Toyos on a E30 ? or is there something else you'd recommend from you experiance

Another vote for toyo's never before in my 10+ years of driving have i been so pleased with my tyres.

Great in all conditions on the road but from what i gather there are better tyres for the money if you want to use them on the track

I've had 2 sets of Toyos on the E30 and if I keep the car the next set will be Toyos

I use yokohama parada spec 2's on the front of my track spec 325i and toyo t1s's on the back.

Both are awesome in the dry however the yokohama's are quite frankly shockingly bad in the wet!!!

The toyo's however seem fine.

My mate runs toyo t1r's all round on his trak spec e30 and they have proved not quite as good in the dry (although there's hardly anything in it) but much better in the wet unless itsheavy down pour

Khumo ecsta's are excellent tyres for grip but due to their soft nature don't last to long!

Toyo's are another good way to spend money on rubber.

Yeah that's true, excellent when "dry", so at this time of year the recomendation surley has to go to toyo's.

Another vote for Toyo's, even if I did get 7 punctures over 130miles in Ethiopia with my landcruiser....

They were Uniroyal Rainsports mate and they stuck in the wet like shit to a blanket. I've yet to be so impressed by a tyre.

in a recent bmw mag they tested lots of tyres they said the uniroyal rainsports have never had a bad review and especially good for the weather we are having now
ive had toyos on a few cars now and was very disapointed but thats just me
Ive always been a big fan of goodyears had some goodyear excellence on a vw 150 sport bora diesel and they were very good as an all rounder and only £65 for 205 50 16

Hi mate, i work for a tyre distributor and would recommend taking a look at michelin pilot sports, continental sport/premium contact, cant go wrong with goodyear, toyo and pirelli either. For a mid range option i would suggest barum [made by continental] or avon zv5's which are what i run. I must admit i am gona give the toyos a go next though they always get good press on here

I recently fitted a full set of Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's. I was extremely impressed, early full throttle second gear wheel spin out of tight corners disappeared in the wet with these tyres(325i).

Wear is ok, but the predictability is what sells them to me.

I'm considering changing my next set to continental sport contacts as these seem to be rated better than the Michelins. The only BIG downside is the cost at £450 for a set of the michelins, I don't know if they're worth that much over the toyo's. I might even give the toyo's a shot after these to see how they compare, as the only major negative I've heard about the toyo's is the wear rate.

Up until now I had never spent that sort of money on tyres, but I can't deny that there is a massive improvement mainly in the wet with these tyres compared to previous random tyres I've had.

I've ordered 2x 205/40x17" for the 7.5J fronts and 2x 215/40x17" for the 8.5J rears, all Toyo T1R from Camskill for £266 delivered.

I really wanted to try Uniroyal Rainsports last time I bought a pair of tyres but they seem to be difficult to get hold of, don't they Dez?
Ended-up going back to Toyos. At least I knew what to expect and wasn't disappointed.

Yoki paradas are pretty good I heard, as are a539's

Toyo's are good as gold all the way to the steel belt
