Hi Guys,
Looking at saving up for some Image Wheels cast style DM in 17" but recently came across these on the web:
http://www.topgear.co.uk/acatalog/17_in ... tyres.html
Can anyone shed any light on Calibre wheels (or Image) so as to better make a decision?
Many thanks in advance.

Good chice, alot of the Vdub boys are using these, as from a distance they look like RS's until you get up close, better than the Lenso wheel as the centre nut resembles the RS one.

If you Got "Haters",Then your doing something Right!

Mate, all I can say is steer clear of Image, the quality of wheel is not great at all, if you want a good quality wheel go for a BBS as you can't beat them, and the image wheels are not far cheaper than BBS's, although you do get the required size, I buckled my image wheel going over a small pot hole, it's made of a soft composite not a patch on the BBS or Borbet wheels.

Thanks guys, the price on the Calibre ones versus the Image ones is huge too. I'd love the 'dead right BBS set' but finding the perfect fit will take forever.
I could put on a set of the Calibre wheels while I continue to look...

Another "Copy" wheel where the bolts don't line up.

So you meant "Staggered" set up then, No, only limited sizes, but these are a "Better" rip off wheel.

Like the look of the Compomotives, reminded me to look at the TH's again as I quite like them too (diverse taste).
Rav, do you mean the bolts behind the center cover? (Possible dull question I know)

Rav,
Have had a chat with various people regarding wheels and have decided that 16" is probably the way to go. Your BBS wheels for sale are bob-on but with the other plans I have at the moment I can't stretch that far price-wise.
If you see a set of Compomotive TH's kicking around in 16" I would be interested.
Cheers.

Try looking in "Ed38" or "Wheelwhores" for those, they normally come up for sale.

Anybody heard of these? I'm hoping that Konig make decent rims, apparently these are the premium Konig wheels:
http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/16_Inch_ ... heels__796
Rav - the bolts seem to line up which is nice (a new obsession of mine)
Also, if you're going to put 16's on what profile on a 205 x 16" gives the best radius etc...?

Cheers Rav,
Bang on! I managed to find a rolling radius calculator and they came up with the same numbers...
Thanks again, really helpful, managed to narrow it down to the 'Remembers' or 'TH1680'.
Much appreciated.

Bugger,
Just tried to order the Konig wheels and the guy seems to think that the offset isn't 25? Am I barking up the wrong tree? He reckons the wheels only come in et20 or et35...
Hmmmm.

They should be ok, as E30 BBS wheels are 7j with an ET of 24

Will I have to spacer them up in order to get them to look right in the arches?

No, the lower the ET, the more the wheel moves towards the outside of the arch, the higher the ET, the wheel moves towards the Suspension strut.
You can use wheels with ET 30 in 7j for the E30 but will need Spacers.

Ah, right! You can probably tell I'm not hugely swept up with wheel sizes! From your experience are an offset of et20 well placed? Although aesthetics are not a priority I don't want that Dubster-wheels-outside-the-arches look, even as cool as that look can be. I'd like them to look like they were supposed to be on the car, if you know what I mean...

You should be fine with those sizes.
Leeparkes is running BBS Mahles on his with an ET of 14iirc and he has no problems.
