i have a problem :(
i ve just bought a convertible shell, the plan was to strip my rotting 325i sport and transplant everything onto it.

the problem i hit was whilst taking the bumpers off i rounded the torque bolts off!
i got the bumpers off in the end but ive killed the thread on the brackets inside the carriers

has anyone ever had this problem or does anyone know how to get round it?

i'd be gratefull of any help

Couldn't you replace the carriers if they are still available from dealers or if they are the same as standard bumpers.

If not, what i'd do. Seperate the carrier from the bumpers. Drill the holes big enough to slot a thin nut (2-3 threads) which is the same size as the torx bolt. Weld it in. Grind the excess. Happy days.
