Hi,
I`m new to E30`s having had Mk 1 Golfs for years, anyone know the colours of the wiring for installing my head unit?
I bought my 1990 325I Cab last week, the owner before last h as had a right go at the wiring and cut off the factory audio connectors. I want to solder on some ISO plugs, however the Bentley manual doesn`t show the wring colours. I can sus out the speakers, but I could use the wiring colours for
Ignition control +, Permanent +, electric aerial feed, Illumination.

Thanks Guys

Many thanks, first class artical, still one question thought, the new head unit I have has a wire that needs connecting to the speed sensor that goes to the speedometer, so that the stereo volume increases and decreased with the speed of the convertible. However my Bentley manual doesn`t show the colour of the wire although looking at wiring diagram for the OBC (which my car doesn`t have) suggests that the OBC used a red and brown cable to carry the speed signal fromt the dash plug to the OBC.
Can anyone confirm the correct colour or dash plug location.

Cheers chaps.

there is a green connector that plugs in back of instrument cluster a wire for cruise control plugs in it, there is also a connector on there that can be used for your stereo, if you don`t have the green connector you can buy from bmw for about 4quid.
