Stereo silent on all but sub?

I fitted a new JVC head unit about 6 months ago, and very happy with it, except it lacked bass, so a friend built me an enclosure for my boot with sub and amp. The sub works fine Ԛ—a but, two days later, the rest of the speakers stopped working.

IÔš've tested the speakers outs with a known good unit, but theyÔš're dead. It did briefly come back to life once when I switched it on a couple of days after that, but then dies again.

IÔš'm assuming fitting the sub/amp canÔš't have fcuked it, as all he did was plug the sub cables into the sub outs on the back of the head unit (I was there at the time)?

Also, the stereo has never been used at anything remotely near full volume.

Any ideas?

ItÔš's still under warranty, so I took it backԚ… but itÔš's HalfraudÔš's, so I may as well slit my wrists now.
