Need some advice from you guys
I just bought a Sony cd player off ebay and am having some issues with the seller. Yes it was very cheap but from the way the advert read it looked complete BUT the cage was missing. He's trying to tell me that the majority of car stereos dont come with there own specific cage to fit it into the dash. Every car stereo i've bought wether it be new or 2nd hand has always come with it own cage. Thats 11 so far! And like i said from the ad wording you would have thought it did include it.
Here is a link to the ad
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
What do you think?
Should all car stereos come with there own specific cage?

No mention of the cage in his ad and clearly not visible in the pic....i think for £5.50 your moaning about nothing
Sony specific cage is about £6 on Ebay

yes, every stereo i've bought has come with a cage, BUT on ebay, if it's not in the pic, or mentioned in the ad then don't expect it to be included.
years back when most radios just had the 2 holes either side for a key to remove them the cages were pretty much universal. only as security has improved did manufacturers move to their own cage design.
only pull out models are likely to need a model specific cage, which contains a wiring connector, but lots of those have gone missing over the years. again, unless the add stated that it was included i wouldnt expect it to be.
