Hello everybody!
I am in the process of putting an amp in to the back of my e30, what is the easiest and tidyest way of running leads to boot?
Many thanx

Easiest and tidiest way is to have your battery located in the boot.
If it's in the engine compartment then run it through a grommet in the bulkhead, take the trim off by the doors and run it down the length of the car into the boot. Make sure you keep the power cable away from speaker cables and RCAs though to avoid interference. I've always found that removing as much interior trim as possible makes the job simpler and neater. I'd definitely suggest you remove the rear bench as it's so easy and will allow you more room to work. The biggest hassle is getting the cable through the front and rear bulkheads.

Grab the base from underneath and give it a quick pull upwards, it should pop out quite easily. Remove it from the car and you'll see 2 bolts on brackets which attach the upper part of the seat to the car. Undo these and then slide the seat upwards - it hooks into 2 brackets on the rear bulkhead - job done, should take literally 5 minutes.

I did this job with my son on two of his BMW's, an E30 and E36 compact.
We ran it through the bulkhead as suggested, then went through the centre consoles and under the piece of carpet covering the trans-tunnel. We cut a thin channel through the foam of the carpet and it made a neat job...
