i have a jvc kdpdr51 head unit connected it all up to my fli amp 4 way so connected the phono leads loverly . but when i start the bloody motor engin noise then if i disconnect 1 of the phono leads it goes dosnt matter which 1 any ideas

Sounds like a bad earth. Check all your connections, and make sure you have a good earth on all.
If you haven't already done so, it also helps if you take power and speaker wires down seperate sides of the car.

sounds like a floating earth problem between the amp and phonos. A way to check is to get a length of speaker cable about 6 inches long and earth it out to the amp and the outer metal casing of the phono the noise should then go . Had simular problems in the past

does this have to be from the amp to the phono i dont wont to drive any where with like this might have to take all the seats out and try again

sorted had to run the phonos through the middle of the car seats out job done she is sweet i can here rush crystal exit stage left ooohhh yyyyeeeessssss
