Fitting 6x9 speekers

Well as above I went to fit mine today and I would have to cut a lot of metal work away to fit them
so I would need to build the shelf up some way does any one have any pics as to how they have done your 6x9's

The way I did mine was to make the holes in the parcel shelf big enough to accept the speaker magnets then cut up a piece of microcellular sheeting to make the actual collars.
I'm a shoe repairer by trade so it's the same material you used to get on hush puppies
2 sheets of 8mm thickness was perfect. The beauty of it is that it's firm enough to accept screws but soft enough so that there's no rattles at all.
