Found my old stereo and graphic in the in-laws loft.

Been up there at least 8 years i would of thought.

Had them in my mk2 golf years ago with a pair of 12 inch alpine subs.

Is it worth the period look and installing them to my E30?

Its the Kenwood with the little blue remote to "code" it.

found in a bag with the wiring, remover keys and instruction book, no box though
Model number. krc-778r

With it was my old alpine graphic, was very effective if i remember correctly

model number. ERE G180

Would it look good in the Touring? or shall i put back in loft?

I had one of these back in '99.

It was in my one owner 54000 mile black mk3 XR3i.

I loved that car untill it went up in flames!

Cool. Think I'll power it up today from my booster pack and see if it's still working. It's definately period for the car but it's been a while since I've seen a tape

a kenwood mask was my 1st in car cd player, it was an earlier one than the above, without the blue triangle light.

7050 was the model number i think (the 9050 was the top of the range at the time) really loved it, tons of features that i thought were the tits at the time. shame the ribbon cable started playing up so it used to not respond or stick closed.

pretty sure ive still got it somewhere. not quite old school enough for an e30 imho, although it did have selectable button illumination unlike my current alpine unit
cheers,

harry

Sort of what i was thinking. Not quite old skool enough, odd though that mine seems to be newer than a few guys on here but mine is tape and the older ones are cd. 8O

Kenwoods are ok but sound is not excellent.

They do fit the E30 look though. Gona find a mask Kenwood for mine and wire it up to an amp to get some decent sound.

Got an old Mask kenwood somewhere but the ribbon is broken so doesnt flip over. Might look for it and wire that up.
