Just a quick one...

When the arches are rolled for clearance,does the paintwork get damaged to the point where a respray is required?

Its a lottery. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Im guessing its how much they get rolled, what car they are on etc etc. I've heard people using all sorts of methods to try and prevent the paint cracking, such as using a heat gun, getting them hot and then rolling. Even that hasn't worked.

search for youtube japanese baseball bat wheel arch rolling - its a how to guide on how to roll arches without paint requirements, both my cars done this way with no worries

I did the search but it didn't turn that up...but i did find a guy who used a metal pipe jammed between arch and wheel and he rolled it round that way.
I guess that's a similar kind of thing??Looks a bit barbaric!

I had mine done professionally... and the paint cracked! It really is luck i think. That said i haven't had them resprayed yet, a year down the line, no rust and you can bearly notice
