I would go with 1.5cu ft, but as above, at least need a model number to search on, then you'll find a recommended size!!!
Also assuming you're knocking up a sealed box, not ported?

I said 1cuft because he hasn't told us what the specs are or who its made by.
I put an atomic 15 in a 1cuft box and it sounded awesome. BTW I did make plenty of different boxs for the atomic ranging from 2.5cuft down to 1cuft sealed.
I someone gives me the specs, I can design a good ported box for this sub.
The sub really has no info on it except the logo sc on the cone and on the terminals behind the sub.
its heavy as feck so figured it must be able to pump!! thanks anyway, will try looking for the manufacturer again, can anyone recomend a good mono block amp that wont break my budget and should I use a power cap or is that for bigger systems
Forget the power cap. You'd be better off spending your money on making sure the charging system is up to the job. For this you need to upgrade your altenator, battery and engine earth wires.
You'll want to have a box about 1cuft because after displacement of your sub it will go down to the 0.75 that you need.
If you let me know the depth of the sub, and what rough shape you want I can reshape it and tell you what cuts you need from mdf.
A rough idea 15hx15wx8d
What is your budget for an amp? and the power/resistance of the coil(s)?
