Alot of people will say dont go lower than 40mm... but aslong as you buy decent kit 60mm is no problem provided your wheels arent GAY.
I run 8J front and 9J rear with a 60mm drop no problems, e30 arches are huuuuuge!

My wheels are 6jx14s with Pirelli P6000s(thinking of getting some better ones when my wallet's recovered lol). With a 40mm drop and four man up would it rub?
Cheers, James.

It'd have to be four huge f*ckers for it to rub with 6x14's lol! It should be fine, just go easy on the speedbumps

you will be surprised at how low a 40mm drop is!!
firstly are you dropping with just springs? and if so will you be buying springs or cutting what you have?
Then will you be buying shock absorbers to match the lower springs?
if you go with 40mm drop and matching shocks then you wil not have rubbing. if you drop without shocks then there is the chance of rubbing depending on what srpings you buy, cutting the springs is not a good option but it works...note loose springs with the car fully jacked up is an MOT failure - a point to check on the rears

Ive just dropped mine -80 with standard shocks for the time being and mtech(?) rear shocks. Sits at about the same height my brothers touring does at -60. Not settled yet tho. No rubbing, just had 5 people in it and no rubbing at all over speed bumps. I do have 14" steels tho

Mine is lowered 40mm on Spax springs front and back, with Blistein rear shocks and i very rarely have speed hump problems. I knocked on one today as i was being abit cocky and hit a hump too fast, no matter no damage done. I got standard steelies on with wheel trims so thats probably why i have no wheel rubbing problems. But 40mm is such a good look, the pic below shows it, the red one is standard whilst the white one is lowered 40mm
