Hello peeps, I’m hoping some of you can shed some light on how to properly set up my amp and subwoofer set up first off heres some pics and specs of my equipment are as follows:

Alpine CDA7876RB Headunit

Vibe Slick S12

Image

Ӣ Speaker Size: 12"(323mm)
Ӣ RMS Power: 400w
Ӣ Peak Power: 1200w
Ӣ Sensitivity: 90dB
Ӣ Frequency Response: 20-1500hz
Ӣ Impedance: 4ohm

Alpine MRD M605 Mono Block Amp

Image

Ӣ Mono subwoofer car amplifier
Ӣ 300 watts x 1 at 4 ohms (600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
Ӣ Internal, variable-speed cooling fan
Ӣ MOSFET power supply and output stages
Ӣ STAR Topology for cleaner sound
”¢ Bass Engine® features:
- Low-pass digital filter, 30-200 Hz, with a selectable 12 or 24 dB/octave slope
- Selectable subsonic filter (off, 15Hz, or 30 Hz)
- Parametric EQ variable from 30-160 Hz, ±12 dB
- Bass Compensator enhances low-end definition
Ӣ Preamp outputs
Ӣ Time correction 0-10 milliseconds in 0.1ms steps
Ӣ Phase adjustment 0-180

Now where the help comes in, although I’m very good at fitting audio the art of fine tuning it is a mystery to me, my main point of confusion is the setting on the amp, I understand how to use the gain settings but the other settings I really don’t have a clue about they are as follows”¦”¦

LP Filter 30-200HZ

LP Slope 12db ”“ 24db

Subsonic Filter Off ”“ 15hz ”“ 70hz

There is also a setting via the digital menu for Bass EQ db which I assume is a kinda decibel booster which goes from 0 - +16db

Heres a picture of the dials and switches”¦..

If someone can explain the above to me it will help me no end in setting up the system, my head unit also has built in high and low crossovers but at the moment there turned off.

If you need and more info in order to help me out please ask

Thanks in advance for any help given

LP anywhere from 120Hz down wards (tweak it till it suits your music tastes).
LP slope - try both to see what you prefer, once you've set the LP and subsonic filters

Subsonic filter- set at 15Hz as you can't hear anything below about 20Hz

Bass eq would give you up to +16db boost at possibly 45Hz.
Set it too 0 just now till you've set the other parameters. Then tweak accordingly

If one is LP (low pass) and the other is HP(high pass) then set them at the same frequency
I.E if low pass is 120Hz set the Hp at 120Hz as well. That way there's not a "hole" on the audio range.

This would just be a starting point, and will require fine tuning till your happy with it?

TBH i'm already kinda happy with it but i've just put random settings in as i dont really know what i'm doing so i should be able to get it sounding even better thanks to you.

I'm also not sure how to far to push the gain i think the amp is a bit more powerfull than the sub although the head unit does have a sub woofer level control which helps alot
