Had the radio out of the car to have a look at the posibility of soldering in a few wires for my mp3 player.

Put it in the car tonight to try it out and CODE poped up on the display. I stuppidly pushed some buttons and now all it shows is ---- and pushing buttons doesnt help :)

I've the cover of it of and there's a sticker on the inside with 4 digits, would this be the code? How can I reset the yoke again so it will ask me for the code? Have it disconnected right now in the hope that it does something.

I've my eyes on a nice alpine. Just gotta save for a bit and I just decided to go back to college, gonna be a while... It's a short term solution to get my own music in the car.

Found the manual, followed instructions so I can enter the code again. Tried the 4 number inside the unit, no luck :( So rather than try something else and risk getting it permanently locked I gave up.

Manual talks about a radio code card, unfortunately I don't have it but the previous owner f the car said he will have a look for it.

There isn't anyone on the site who can generate the code if I give the serial number etc?

Nice story:) And can i ask you how did your aux-in modification finish?
I have a similar intention, but i want to replace AM-module by AUX IN - and I am finding tho most elegant way. I mean - after pressing "am" button it will get signal of my aux..

It never worked for me :D From what I remember there was very tin sound before a blew a fuse. I had only pushed the wires on to test before soldering them in, I think they touched then and that blew the fuse. I ended up using one of them tape yokes with a 3.5mm jack on them, it worked fine until the radio stopped working.

One of the US sites had a how to wire in an aux cable but not in the way you are doing it, which sounds like a good way if it works out. I hope it works out.

The Alpine I got has rear usb with the wire going into the glove box, would have done it the same with the aux in had it worked.
