It looks like at one point mine had a stereo fitted, but not anymore. i've taken out the existing cage, but found this adaptor at the back:

Can i actually get an adaptor that will fit (if so does anyone know the part no?).

Thanks :D

That's specific to the stereo you took out.

What's further down the on that loom? Bullet connectors?

Which stereo are you fitting in?

I didn't even think that might be another stereo adaptor - i just assumed it was the bmw one!

right, pulling that out - the wires have been cut/spliced into the existing loom (although done well to be honest!). that makes it easier in a way to start with a new iso connector.

In the car I have:

2 green/black wires
2 grey/black wires
2 black wires
2 red/black wires

-speakers i guess?

1 orange wire
1 red wire

can anyone tell me which are which?

it's a blaupunkt dab54 (i had it in my mondeo previously)

You can get an ISO lead from blaupunkt directly but it is dead easy to wire it in without.

Hang on I will find the link to the blaupunkt iso lead

Ah ok it's a company that sell Blaupunkt and they don't seem to list the E30 lead as they used to but the link is here

If it has decent wiring just tap into again. Got a test light?

green/black wires & grey/black wires are almost certainly speakers

the other wires i would check with a test light

red - probably permanent live
orange accessory switch live
black - earth
