Hi everyone i'm new on here but need some questions answering - i'm restoring a bmw IS 318 softtop its one of the last ones i have been told (K reg)

It came in mauritus blue which was its original colour
I want to know is mauritus blue a metalic paint? as i cant tell on the car as it is now?? ( i wanted a metallic colour but also want to keep its original colour)

Why cant you tell if its metalic or not??? Get a torch and shine it directly on the paint.... Maybe the colour has dulled down? Give it a polish.

the car came with metallic paint as standard, you can confirm this buy looking at the sticker normally located on the passenger side (in a RHD) suspension front turret. it should say metallic.

the colour code for Mauritiusblau is 287, with this code (and tell them the car and year) you can go to any paint supplier and have paint made. they can make it metalllic or not so you should tell the suppier you want metallic.
