Hi Guys
My H reg 325 Cab is due to be on the road pretty soon, the sun's shinning and I'm desperate to get her on the road.
She's gonna need a decent alarm and I'm after recommendation on what model to go for and a decent place to get it done. I'm had one done in my E36 last year (Clifford 650) but later found out the fella that done it is a bit of a cowboy when it comes to wiring, leaving lives hanging around and no soldering wires. It works fine but after hearing that I'd rather go somewhere that is recommended by someone who know's for a fact that their work is 100%.
Cheers all.

Don't know about fitters really, but from my experience clifford alarms are a pain in the arse. I had one on my sport and it was constantly false alarming and "chirping".... that same "chirp" is often heard regularly at car shows and meets where many cars sport clifford alarms.
Am looking for a decent alternative myself. My mate has a cobra alarm and hasn't had any issues with it.

Avoid Clifford. I have heard so many bad things about them. I had one on a previous car and had nothing but hassle with it.
I have a Toad on the E30, Good alarm. I'm sure they no longer exist though.

I've had a clifford 300 for 6 years without a problem, until 2 weeks ago when it kept going off!!! So I went into the setup menu and it told me which sensor was faulty. Cleaned it up and hey presto, fine again!! Cant get better than that!
I know quite a few people with cliffords who dont have a problem, but i have also heard people say they have. I would say crappy install and set up is a lot to do with it.
But lets be honest, what use are alarms these days really, when they do go off people just ignore them!!!

Cheers for all the replies chaps. Should have said I'm in Surrey near Sutton. I'm happy with Clifford I find them pretty good as long as they've been installed and set up correctly. I think the problem with Cliffords is they give you too many things to fiddle about with, but anyway..
To be fair all it needs to do is make a noise when people look at it
