i was droving home at lunch and the radio just turned off.
radio is a sony explode type.
took the radio out when i got home and the fuse is still ok in the back. checked all the fused in the fuse box and they are ok too. all the wires going into the radio seem fine too.
tried another radio, but nothing.
any ideas guys? are there any fuses etc hidden form view that i need to try?

Right then fuses. There will be either a 10 or 15 amp fuses in the back of the head unit. But it is more likely to be one under the bonnet.
Fuse12 - 7.5amps should do it.
Also are you using BMW own radio wire, or have you linked it straight from the battery??

I think your E30 has blown your radio up on purpose becuase Sony Xplode's should only be used in cars such as Ford Festa's & Shitron Waxo's and it made your E30 feel cheap

He's tested another radio since, and it still doesn't work. Hence...pac1982 wrote:I think your E30 has blown your radio up on purpose becuase Sony Xplode's should only be used in cars such as Ford Festa's & Shitron Waxo's and it made your E30 feel cheap

did you sort this problem out?
if you did not please let me know if your electric ariel works properly (when the stereo worked ofcourse!!)
sounds like you have no voltage at the head unit power lead.
